Manta Air takes off with Centrik

New Maldives airline, Manta Air, has taken to the skies with the help of Centrik, implementing the system as part of its daily operations management.

Centrik’s modular structure, intuitive interface and unlimited concurrent user functionality – alongside glowing reports from existing users and regulators – were cited by the airline as the main reasons for choosing Centrik as one of its operational management systems.

Edward Alsford, Chief Operating Officer at Manta Air, says: “Centrik has been integral in getting Manta Air operational – the only thing we regret is that we didn’t implement it sooner!

“Centrik has transformed our day-to-day operations, letting us efficiently and effectively manage everything, from risk reporting, safety, and compliance, through to our daily management and workflows.”

The system provides Manta Air with a centralised, constantly updating repository of the airline’s processes, actions and outcomes, across every department. Management can then collate months of complex information in minutes as required, such as for audits or trend analysis.

“Anything we could possibly need is now at our fingertips, and with Centrik’s intuitive traffic light system, at a glance we can get a complete overview of every department’s status. We can instantly see what actions have been allocated, to who, and whether they’ve been completed. The system has introduced a phenomenal level of discipline throughout the business, making everything we do far more focused and efficient,” adds Alsford.

The safety, quality and compliance teams have used Centrik for a range of audits, providing third parties with read-only access to the system – including the Maldives CAA. This total transparency and real-time access to all relevant information removes any need for paper copies or protracted email chains, again significantly improving productivity and efficiency.

Manta Air currently operates two new ATR 600s, with a third entering service in the near future. The airline’s inaugural domestic route, between Male’ and Kudahuvadhoo, will operate four daily flights on a pre-published fixed schedule.

The airline will also soon be embarking on a second AOC for the operation of its Twin Otter sea planes, with Centrik continuing to play an integral role in day-to-day operational management, alongside other systems used by Manta Air.
